Protagonists looking for Happiness in Death of a...

Often having happiness is finding the key to life. Happiness is the ability to make one’s life full of joy and success. In the â€Å"Death of a Salesman†, â€Å"The Great Gatsby†, and â€Å"The Devil’s Advocate†, the protagonists in the movies seem to yearn for happiness and success in their lives. Although success may be the ultimate goal to achieving happiness, it does not always lead us there. There are many obstacles people have to overcome, and sometimes happiness is not enough for some people. It is why I believe more people should enjoy life and live it to the fullest extent as possible. Happiness allows people to live their lives and look at the good despite all their flaws and as they are happy they look back at what it took for them to achieve†¦show more content†¦Yes, Gatsby experiences happiness to a certain extent, but when his life ends suddenly, I think he is unhappy and does not have everything he wanted out of life. The â⠂¬Å"American Dream† meant nothing if he was not with the love of his life. I like how Gatsby overcomes many obstacles to be successful but he is not happy like a typical person should be. I think Gatsby seems to have regretted having his fortune because of the obstacles he faced in being happy. The key to life in my opinion is being happy. In the â€Å"The Devil’s Advocate†, I think the protagonist Keanu yearns for happiness. He is an attorney seeking a victory for a case which he knows is immorally wrong. Although this may be wrong, the protagonist seems to seek happiness, and is destined to going in the wrong path. He is choosing the path of evil to get what he wants, and in doing so he meets the â€Å"devil† who is the antagonist and the person who wants to lead Keanu in the wrong direction. In my opinion the aforementioned â€Å"devil† represents immorality, evil, money, power, success, getting what you want no matter what and happiness among others. These are all qualities that people want and in doing so it takes time and good fortune to make it happen. The devil intrigues many people, where he wants to influence them in making this decision to be on his side and making all this happen in an instant. It is the path Keanu
